Jack Searcy

Jack Searcy has forty years' experience in the oil and gas industry. His practice focuses primarily on title examination, due diligence, and the preparation of original, supplemental, and division order title opinions. He also reviews, analyzes, and interprets joint operating agreements, leases, and other contracts. In addition to his law firm experience, he has spent time in-house at a small independent oil company, in the land, legal, and division order departments. He has drafted and negotiated oil and gas leases for both lessors and lessees. He has written articles and given talks on pooling of nonexecutive interests. Jack specializes in difficult and complex mineral titles. He has been Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1987.

Jack was a ten-year member of American Mensa, Ltd., holds a black belt from the American Taekwondo Association, and has earned Master Builder status from the National Model Railroad Association. He is listed in Who's Who in America, and has received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from that organization. He is also an elder in the Presbyterian church. Jack is a member of Gamma Beta Phi national honor fraternity.
