Melissa Lombardo

Melissa has extensive experience in the energy sector, with a particular focus on upstream transactions in the oil and gas industry in Texas and Louisiana. Melissa advises clients on all aspects of oil and gas transactions, including complex mineral title examination, analyzing leases and pooling/unitization agreements, preparing original, drilling, division order and supplemental title opinions for oil and gas operations, conducting due diligence for asset acquisitions, and drafting curative documents.

Prior to joining the firm, Melissa was in-house land and regulatory counsel for a local E&P company where she revised and drafted the company's form operating agreements, drilling contracts and master service agreements, as well as all asset acquisitions and divestitures contracts, participation agreements, joint venture agreement, joint operating agreements, surface and water use agreements, and commercial and employment contracts. Additionally, Melissa led the company's regulatory team, and worked with the company's litigation and disputes team.

Melissa gained valuable experience in the oil and gas field as a landman working throughout the Gulf Coast area. She now uses her landman background in her current legal practice, providing clients with straightforward, practical solutions.

Melissa enjoys spending time volunteering at her children's school, helping new families to the area make connections, and using her love of sewing and knitting to donate to charities globally.
